Rucs de la Serralada - Tiana
A space where children can connect with donkeys and enjoy practical outdoor activities
A donkey farm and reserve where visitors can learn about this threatened species in a beautiful natural setting. Many of the donkeys here have been rescued, rehabilitated, and successfully integrated into the herd.
Spanning three hectares of land just 10 minutes from Barcelona, the facility offers year-round activities, providing meaningful opportunities to connect with these gentle animals while raising awareness about their conservation.
Visiting with kids
Rucs de la Serralada is a fantastic destination for children of all ages. We recommend visiting with your family from 10 am to 2 pm on weekends. Entrance is free, and kids pay based on the duration of the donkey ride.
The visit also includes hands-on activities such as brushing donkeys, going on donkey rides, and feeding the resident chickens and ducks. For those who don’t mind getting a little messy, there’s even a chance to help with shoveling and composting!
You can also book group activities in advance, like donkey trekking, or organize birthday parties. Seasonal activities—such as searching for the Tió—add extra fun throughout the year.
For your visit, dress comfortably, and if you’re bringing little ones, a carrier may be more convenient than a stroller. A picnic area is available, and light refreshments and snacks are sold on-site.
Best time to go
Rucs de la Serralada is open on weekends and select public holidays, making it a great year-round destination. However, they may close on very rainy days, so it’s always best to call ahead and check before heading out. Please note that the farm is closed during the month of August.
